Mommy's Birthday
Another year older..and I think I actually have to move up a box when it comes to age groups :( Oh well, at least my kids keep me young..or do they actually make me age faster?! We celebrated at the Cheesecake factory and in addition to the yummy OREO cheesecake with LOTS of whipped cream requested by Maddie, we had what else? Cosentino cupcakes...chocolate (OF COURSE!) and red velvet. Maddie and I liked the chocolate better, but Adam loves the red velvet.
Thank you to everyone for the cards, gifts and wishes :)
Inauguration Day
As we sit watching the Inauguration of Barack Obama, you can't help but sense what being an AMERICAN is all about...as one person on TV put it: it's no longer about being "_____-american" it's about being JUST american!
No matter what your politics are you have to concede what an historic day it is today. I get chills from the words spoken by each speaker, and it's not from the 40 degree outside (or looking at those people dedicated...and lucky!...enough to be in Washington).
We have a new administration....I hope President Obama continues to inspire and bring about the spirit of being American and let our hope for our children ring true: Dream Big, Pursue Happiness, and You can do "whateva" you want (a la Adam talk but say it to your parents one too many times and end up in TIME OUT! :P).

Middle of January...ALREADY?!
I just back blogged from Christmas... giving everyone a chance to enjoy their holidays...and giving myself a chance to get organized.
Well, we hope everyone had a GREAT holiday season! We sure did, we got to see lots of family and friends, including Miya's 1st Christmas with her Grandparents Trinh AND Mrs. Tanaka, Miho's mom visiting from Japan. The kids all had so many gifts, SPOILED I tell you! But the most surprising thing was they didn't get ANY duplicate gifts and each gift was pretty much "it's exactly what I wanted!" sure...
As for giving myself a chance to get organized...hmmmm...it's already the middle of January?! We finally took down our christmas tree last week but the boxes are still in our living room. And the "let down" of the festivities makes me not very motivated to MOVE much more than absolutely necessary. :)
We have lots to look forward to this year: Maddie will be enrolling in Kindergarten, Adam will be enrolling in Pre-School, Mark's company just got bought out today, and I'm hoping to actually RUN a half marathon instead of walking to enjoy the scenery. I do hope to keep up to date on our Blog though...so until our next post...
Miya...Day 4 and 5
Day 4 - who are all these people? why are you taking my picture?!
Day 5 - oh, you're still here?????
We spent the week of Christmas camped out at the Trinhs with Miya :) It was so fun playing with her and seeing how she grew in those few days. You really do forget about the small baby stuff (like 3 am bottles?!) and how many ways you can swaddle the babies.
(by the way, YES i'm back blogging!)
